Highlander – The Adventure of a Lifetime

Did you know that the global hiking sensation, the Highlander project, originated in Croatia? Back in 2017, enthusiasts and nature lovers launched Highlander to make hiking and spending time in nature accessible to everyone in a fun and approachable way.

Today, Highlander takes place in more than 20 countries across four continents, allowing participants to hike some of the world’s most beautiful mountain locations.

To prepare for the challenges of the ascent, participants trained through expert-led Highlander webinars. After demanding climbs, they were welcomed each day with carefully designed activities, including evening camps, live music, workshops, lectures, yoga classes, and massages.

In 2025, we supported Highlander as sponsors on Lošinj, Velebit, and Medvednica. Our colleagues also took on the adventure of a lifetime during a three-day expedition conquering the peaks of Velebit. They concluded that time spent in nature is always an opportunity for a reset — and that they will certainly join the Highlanders again, perhaps at a new location. For the first time, Samobor has also been added to the Highlander map in the most accessible adventure format yet!
